Firefighters burn gas leak in Weston; 3 businesses evacuated – WSVN 7News | Miami news, weather, sports

WESTON, FL. (WSVN) – – Firefighters are burning a gas leak that occurred in Weston.

Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue units responded to the hazard near North Park Drive and Indian Trace Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the gas leak occurred when construction crews accidentally hit a line.

Three nearby businesses had to be evacuated as a precaution.

The burn is used to exhaust the remaining gas in the tank. The process could take several hours, officials said.
