JD Vance Aide’s Erratic Posts Detail ‘Gas Station Heroine’, Call VP Choose a ‘Boot Licker’

A financial policy adviser to JD Vance made a series of shocking online posts detailing his affinity for “gas station heroin” and other drug preparations, and referred to the Republican vice presidential nominee as “a bootlicker of Trump.”

Aaron Kofsky, who has worked in the Ohio senator’s office since May, ran a Reddit account called PsychoticMammal, sharing his addiction to drugs like kratom and advising others on how to sneak drugs through the airport security, according to a WIRED investigation.

The posts date back more than 11 years, with reports linking the account to Vance’s advisor through data breaches, social media accounts, past posts that match his personal life, and more.

PsychoticMammal also posted on a cocaine subreddit how to get drugs through airport security, in which the account advised putting it in a book or a wallet.

On a subreddit, r/ResearchChemicals, the account posted a video of Vance questioning the US Drug Enforcement Administration about nitazene, a synthetic opioid. The DEA described the drug as “as dangerous and deadly as fentanyl.”

“Amazing! The politician knows about Nitazenes. Ohio Senator JD Vance calls for testimony on Nicenes. Is it me, or is this super amazing? Like he’s confused how this guy ever heard of zenas? I can’t imagine any of their peers know anything about them,” the post read.

A comment then pointed to Krosky in the background, saying: “That guy on the right behind him looks high on something lol.”

The account then said, “Haha, I didn’t notice that guy before. His eyes are definitely a bug. Maybe he blew some white girls before? I’m sure half the railroads in congress.”

In a statement in Vance’s Senate office, Kofsky admitted to being behind the account and shared that he has battled addiction.

“I have struggled with drug use, which in my case was primarily an attempt to self-medicate against the effects of epilepsy and epilepsy medication,” the statement told WIRED.

“I deeply regret posting these comments. I’m not proud of it and I’m ashamed that it was made public in this way, but I’m grateful to say that part of my life is behind me,” he added.

In another post where a user said that Nitazens aren’t obscure, PsychoticMammal responded: “I can’t believe this Trump Vance bootlicker is ahead of the curve here.”

According to the article, in another post earlier this year, the account said, “I love coke on its own, mixed with benzos, mixed with opiates (my favorite), and I even love a line or two after smoking a few bowls. I’d even say coke is my second favorite drug behind opiates.”

The Reddit account posted about a multitude of drugs, including cocaine, oxycodone, Ritalin and MDMA.

PsychoticMammal also made posts about his addictions to certain drugs, including kratom and tianeptine, which the article described as “gas station heroin.”

Just three months ago, the account published a post “asking for help locating one of the compounds found in kratom in DC, Northern Virginia or Maryland,” according to the investigation.

Many posts were later deleted WIRING asked for feedback, and his profile picture was changed on Poshmark (an account linking him to the Reddit user) to a photo from the Star Wars film Attack of the Clone.
