Massive Data Breach at Game Freak Studios Reveals New Dark Pokemon Movie Plot

Game Freak, the studio behind the Pokemon video game masterpiece, has been hit with the biggest data breach in its history targeting the movie: The Pokemon. A leaked user allegedly released a bunch of data online, allegedly taken from Game Freak studios. The size of the leak crosses the terabyte unit and includes all the good stuff including game assets and lore.

Pokemon Movie History Leak

The leak suggested that the studio was toying with various ideas for the 24th film and was referred to under the code name Bauer. Production on the film began in 2021 and was supposed to be released in 2023, but it was indefinitely shelved.

According to the leak, a rough synopsis for the 24th Pokemon movie was developed and it takes a darker turn than the others released before. The idea of ​​the movie was to reboot the entire Pokemon universe to win back fans lapsed over the years. The dark touch to the story was added to appeal to older fans who have the financial resources to watch movies in theaters. The film has moved towards a more intense story previously with the first film, Pokemon: The First Movie, as reported by Comicbook.

A rough sketch of the Pokemon movie has been leaked

Leaks revealed that the film would be set in modern Kanto with Mew as the central mythical creature of the film. The synopsis would have revolved around two original characters named Light and Akari as they struggled through the teenage stage. It covered intense topics from cyberbullying to suicide.

However, the leak indicated that executives weren’t too thrilled with the tone, given that a large amount of their fan base is made up of children. They weren’t even satisfied with exposing children to such dark subjects that could seriously affect young children.

Other leaked details of the data breach revealed source codes for old games like Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver and the codenames for the Switch 2, including the upcoming Pokemon Gen 10 games: “Ounce” and “Gaia” respectively. The leak also included Pokemon history dating back 30 years, mentions of a Pokemon MMO currently in development along with information from company meetings, beta designs, employee information, and upcoming titles, as reported by CBR.

Pokemon movies have been known to release a movie every year since 1988 and fans became regulars, but it’s been four years since the last movie was released. Also, with the leak, the future of the film seems to be bleak.
