Luxury apartments in Gurugram priced at Rs 75 crores leave netizens in awe

The staggering cost of the Gurgaon apartment has prompted comparisons with properties in some of the world’s most renowned locations, with users even looking up Burj Khalifa apartment prices for context.

A recent post by X user Abhinav Kukreja, who identifies himself as a “recovering founder”, has sparked outrage on social media by highlighting the exorbitant prices of luxury apartments in Gurgaon. Kukreja shared images of DLF’s luxury project, The Dahlias, located on Golf Course Road, with lavish facilities including a private theatre, games room, ice bath area and premium spa facilities. The most shocking revelation was the starting price of Rs 75 crore for the smaller unit.

Expressing disbelief, Kukreja said, “I can’t believe they cooked this up in Gurgaon,” further emphasizing the shock over the luxurious features and high prices of the apartments. The staggering cost has prompted comparisons with properties in some of the world’s most famous locations, with users even looking for context on apartment prices in the Burj Khalifa.

An X-user revealed that the smallest unit in the new development has an impressive 9,500 square feet and is expected to sell for around Rs 80,000 per square foot. He noted, “This means there is now a building in Gurgaon where the cheapest house costs approximately 75 million rupees ($9 million),” adding to the consternation among potential buyers and observers.

As reactions poured in on social media, many users expressed disbelief and considered alternatives. One user commented, “You can get a front view in Italy for the same price with much better facilities,” underscoring the absurdity of the prices compared to global options. Another user added, Rs 75 crore for an apartment in Gurgaon or an apartment of the same size in the world’s tallest and most elegant building, Burj Khalifa, where apartments start at Rs 6 crore for 1 BHK. Tough choice…”

A third user commented: “For 1.2 million you could get an apartment in Manhattan near Times Square…”
