General Hospital’s Parry Shen reveals what it was like working with the new Lucas

Parry Shen’s return to General Hospital long overdue. Her character, Brad, was previously married to Lucas. But Brad’s misdeeds, which involved a tragic baby swap, put the kibosh on their relationship. Lucas also recently returned to Port Charles and told Brad in no uncertain terms that he wanted nothing to do with him. Shen recently described playing Brad alongside Lucas’ new portrayal, Van Hansis.

He has a good work ethic

Hansis is no stranger to soap operashaving played Luke Snyder While the world turns from 2005 to 2010. He it made its way through several projects until it landed on GH as a Lucas overhaul. Brad and Lucas were on good terms until it was revealed that Brad switched his dead baby with Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) very alive baby. Lucas subsequently divorced him in 2020.

So far, Shen has loved working with Hansis. he said Soap opera digest they found immediate common ground, bonding over which comic artists they follow on Instagram. Immediately, Hansis asked Shen to inform him about Lucas and Brad’s former relationship.

As Hansis was so excited to learn as much history about the characters as he could, Shen was speechless. “I was already impressed with his work ethic,” Shen explained, adding that he wasn’t surprised because “I had done my homework on him once I heard it was cast and had seen clips of his work as Luke in As the world turns and forward EastSiders.” He joked, “I’m an incredibly complete cyberbully.”

Brad has evolved

Shen testified that he filled Hansis in on the timeline of Brad and Lucas’ relationship. He even went into detail about its complex nature, as well as his characters’ relationships with other Port Charles residents. He explained: “It’s a huge amount of history to process because Lucas is connected to so many people. And I know Van used all that information (from other cast members as well) to formulate how he wanted to approach the character accordingly “.

When the two characters met after some time had passed, Shen made sure that Brad seemed contrite for all his deeds, but still had feelings for Lucas. He wanted to make sure Lucas understood that Brad was working to be a better person. Shen thought that Brad and Lucas were far from reconciliation, but stated that Brad could prove his worth to his former love with “Deeds, not words. I think Brad knows that his actions have to show that he is a changed person or, at least, that he is trying to change.” (Find out if fans want Brad and Lucas to reunite.)
