A new Pokemon anime is just around the corner

In the past, we have seen supplements pokemon anime series come to the small screen. Pokemon Concierge i Pokemon: Twilight Wings are just two examples of spin-offs that managed to examine new parts of this universe. Concierge went a step further in implementing a more “stop-motion animation” style to its story. In recent leaks that have been making their way online, a new series titled “Pokemon Reload” has been hinted at, though that name is what’s likely a placeholder.

According to the leaks, this will be an “anime series for all ages” that will be brought to life by Studio Colordio, the production house responsible for Pokemon: Twilight Wings. The new series will have twelve episodes, each lasting about twenty-one minutes. The series is reportedly coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services. The spinoff series was originally supposed to arrive in 2023, but it was obviously delayed, and the future of its release remains a mystery.

The future of Pokemon anime

as it is, Pokémon Horizons has no plans to drop Liko and Roy in favor of Ash’s return or new trainers taking over the reins of the new stars. According to leaks, the current main anime could be heading towards a time jump, aging the trainers and putting them in wild new situations. With that in mind, it looks like Ash and Pikachu’s replacements are for the long haul.

This does not necessarily mean that we will never see Ash and Pikachu return in the anime adaptation. In the past, behind-the-scenes creators have stated that they wouldn’t mind bringing the pair back, though in what way remains a mystery. Pokemon Horizons hasn’t even referenced Ash Ketchum lately, leading many to wonder when the series takes place in the anime’s timelines and what the current world champion is up to. When we last saw Ketchum, he was still traveling the countryside to actually learn how to become a Pokemon Master.
