Hastings Walmart was evacuated after vehicle hit gas line

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – First responders were on scene at the Hastings Walmart after a reported gas leak Tuesday.

Hastings Fire and Rescue could be seen at the store just before 2pm

Hastings public information manager Tony Herrman said a vehicle backed into the gas line there.

A person who contacted Local4 said he was at Walmart when employees told everyone to evacuate.

A Walmart employee was blocking customers from the area, saying no one was allowed inside.

Our reporter on the scene said employees were not permitted to comment, but to contact Walmart’s media relations team for more information.

There were no immediate reports that anyone was injured.

Just before 3:30 p.m., our reporter on the scene could see first responders leaving the scene and employees returning to the building.
