Tshwane Metro and Samwu are set for a battle against the labor courts

Tshwane Metro, which has a new administration following the ousting of DA mayor Cilliers Brink, is set to battle Samwu in the labor court on November 28 over the union’s demands for higher wages.

This follows a recent Labor Court decision to hear Tshwane’s two review applications in November. They refer to the city’s refusal to implement a 3.5 percent wage increase for employees in 2021 and another 5.4 percent wage increase in 2023 due to lack of funds.
