Meanwhile, the prime minister said he has ordered the Royal Thai Police to facilitate complaints.

The Consumer Protection Board has also been told to implement measures and enforce laws to protect people from dubious pyramid schemes and raise public awareness.

“Some people are drawn into the business without knowing the requirements for direct selling,” he said, adding that it was aimed at protecting innocent people from being duped again.

The Prime Minister also said that the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Public Health has been urged to ensure that unregistered food products are not sold directly or through online platforms.

Paetongtarn has also instructed the Ministry of Finance to inspect and implement measures to deal with companies that use the pyramid scheme.

Regarding the rumors about state officials seeking to extort bribes from the iCon Group, Paetongtarn said that these allegations need to be investigated and that the Department of Special Investigation will have to help with this issue.

He went on to say that relevant agencies have been tasked with strictly cracking down on fraudulent business models and reporting progress to the people, so they know what to do to deal with scams.

He added that the Speaker of the House, Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, has also directed a House panel on consumer protection to look into this scourge of Ponzi schemes.
