Jelly roll is looking back on her tumultuous life journey in a new interview with the life coach Jay Shetty.

In the last episode of the Think like a monk of the author on purpose podcast, which aired Monday, Oct. 14, he chatted with the “Wild Ones” singer about the lasting impact of childhood trauma, overcoming inner demons and addiction, and the transformative power of love and the healing

Among other things, like talking about his estranged relationship with his mother—who struggled with mental health issues and drug addiction—and father—who dealt with alcoholism—and the influence that music had on him, they also asked him about an altercation he had. at the age of 15 that brought him behind bars.

“At 15 you went to prison for armed robbery. Have you ever thought about them, or maybe even met them, but have you ever thought about what you would say to that person if you ran into them again?” Shetty asked the ‘Save Me’ artiste.

In response, Jelly Roll admitted, “That’s the best question I’ve ever been asked. I’ve been avoiding that question, hopefully, because I don’t know how to answer it, Jay.”

“I’m really looking forward to having a conversation with them. I’ve thought about reaching out,” he said, continuing to delve into his feelings behind the ordeal. “I would just ask them to understand, I would just ask them to one, forgive me because there is no excuse for this.”

Making herself vulnerable, she continued, “The first responsibility is, no matter how old I was, I had no business taking anybody. Just the right I had, that, the world owed me enough to come and take your stuff. what a horrible, horrible way to look at life and people, what a horrible way to interact with the earth.”

However, the 39-year-old was adamant that he would offer his sincere apologies.

“I’d apologize for that first. It’s just, just a liability is what I’m so important now, Jazz. Just look at them now and go, man, me, and then I hope they give me some grace. as I told them who was 15,” Jelly Roll said.
