Olivia Rodrigo confirms she’s fine after falling through hole on stage at Melbourne gig: ‘It was fun!’

His last stop on the Guts World Tour was full of “brutal” moments.

Olivia Rodrigo wasn’t kidding about going “down under” with her Guts World Tour.

During her Oct. 13 concert in Melbourne, the “Vampire” singer unexpectedly suffered a brutal fall as thousands of adoring fans screamed in shock. Rodrigo was running, waving to fans in the crowd when he started running to the other side of the stage without looking, and just like that, he disappeared from view, falling through a hole in the stage floor.

According to footage of the moment captured by fans, Rodrigo was able to catch himself and recovered like a champ.

“Oh my God! That was fun,” he said, stepping off the lowered platform. “I’m fine!”

Coming out completely, he continued to make light of the stumble, joking: “Sometimes, there’s just a hole in the stage. Okay, where was it? How are you tonight, Melbourne?

Rodrigo kept the pranks going on social media, where he joined TikTok’s “subtle foreshadowing” trend with an edit highlighting his sudden fall from the stage. And just in case fans are still worried, she also reassured everyone with a comment below the video, writing: “I’m fine haha” with a heart emoji.

Meanwhile, fans didn’t hold back when it came to turning their song lyrics into puns. “That was a bad idea, wasn’t it?” wrote one user, while another joked: “Always one step forward and three steps down.”

Taking an accidental dive wasn’t the only dramatic moment at Rodrigo’s last concert. AX (formerly Twitter), a fan joked that “there was something in the air last night,” sharing video of two other mishaps on stage.

In one instance, the “Brutal” singer had a brief wardrobe malfunction, with a bracelet getting caught in her hair mid-choreography, leaving her to continue singing despite the awkward position. In the other, Rodrigo’s hair gets caught in the microphone, pulling out more than a few strands at a time.

Despite these brief hiccups, the singer has been immensely successful when it comes to her latest string of concerts. The Rodrigo’s Guts tour, in support of their self-titled second album, began in February 2024 and runs through March 2025. So far, supporting acts have included the Breeders, Remi Wolf and fellow pop star seismic, Chappell Roan.

“I am very excited to share the GUTS World Tour with my fans,” said Rodrigo in the initial announcement. “For those of you who didn’t get a chance to come out in person, now you can have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed and danced with me, I’m so happy to be able to do it again do it all over again!”
