Jamie Foxx Filled With ‘Pure Joy’ After Opening Up About Mysterious Health Scare On Show

Jamie Foxx is happy and full of “pure joy” after finally speaking out about the health scare that sidelined him for months last year.

Details about the actor’s health scare were kept under wraps at the time, but his daughter Corinne put it down to a “medical complication.” In July, he said the incident started with a “headache” and then he was “gone for 20 days”.

Jamie Foxx has made a full recovery and was recently spotted out on a romantic dinner date with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp.

Sharing snaps from the event, she wrote, “God is good… As I post these photos, my heart and soul are filled with nothing but pure joy… October 3rd, the fourth and on the fifth, I had the opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta Georgia.

Emotions were visibly running high at Foxx’s Atlanta show, as he can be seen raising an arm while bowing his head. In another moment, he was seen wiping his face with his arm, and in a third, he sat behind a piano and addressed the crowd.

Foxx continued: “I have to thank you Atlanta for coming out and showing up, I haven’t been on stage in 18 years but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that wasn’t more than pure love and that’s what you were.”

He added that when people asked him if his show was a “stand-up comedy show,” he would say, “No, it’s an artistic explanation.”

“From something that went very wrong, but thanks to the great people of Atlanta, especially Piedmont Hospital, you allowed me to come back and be on stage and do what I love to do… Foxx continued.

The actor said his health scare started with a ‘headache’

In a video posted online, Foxx was recorded speaking to a group of people in downtown Phoenix, sharing details about his health scare last year, which left him hospitalized and kept him out of the public eye for weeks

The 56-year-old actor stated that on April 11, 2023, he had a “headache” that prompted him to ask his “boyfriend for (an) Advil.”

He then snapped his fingers and stated that he “went off for 20 days” afterwards and “didn’t remember anything.”

“So they told me I’m in Atlanta, they told me my sister, my daughter took me to the first doctor,” Foxx said. The actor then spoke to a woman next to him; however, what he said to her was inaudible.

“The next doctor said, ‘Something’s going on up there,'” Foxx continued, pointing to his head.

“I won’t say it on camera,” he added as he gestured to the person recording him, making the others laugh.

It comes after Foxx had an emotional father-daughter moment as she walked her daughter, Corinne, down the aisle at her wedding to college sweetheart Joe Hooten.

According to the Daily MailFoxx and Corinne enjoyed a sweet father-daughter dance several months after she was forced to stay by his side in the hospital due to his “medical complication,” which left him in a coma for 20 days and left him motionless at that time.

Recalling their wedding day in May, Corinne told Access Hollywood that she was “hoping” Foxx could “walk down the aisle without crying.”

“I don’t think he’s going to make it! He’s really excited, though,” she said at the time.

Corinne and Hooten met while she attended USC, where she majored in public relations and he majored in film and television production.

After they got engaged in December, Foxx said they were “a perfect example of what it’s like to be in love… You care about each other’s lives, mental and physical… and you have each other’s backs.”
