The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating after the welfare check in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. (WNDU) – A welfare check in Goshen has led to an ongoing investigation by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.

Police say they were called around 5:15 p.m. to the 800 block of S. Indiana Avenue on that well-being check. There they found Alma Rocia Bermeo Carreon, 45, dead.

Police say Carreon’s family has been notified.

We’re not sure what happened, but due to the nature of the incident we’re told the Elkhart County Homicide Unit was called in to begin an investigation, which is still ongoing at this time. .
