Josh Brolin will play a priest in ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’.

The 56-year-old actor is set to join the Daniel Craig-starrer whodunnit in the next installment and has revealed that he will play a man of God in the upcoming film, a role that the ‘Dune’ star ” wanted to do

He told TotalFilm: “I’m playing a priest. My wife reminded me… She said, ‘Remember a year ago you said you wanted to play a priest?’ It’s like manifesting this shit.”

Reflecting on the murder-mystery film, the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star praised his ‘favorite new director’ Rian Johnson, calling the film ‘one of the greatest experiences (he’s had) had) ever”.

He said: “Rian is probably my new favorite director. It was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had. An amazing cast.”

In addition to Brolin, ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ – which will be released in 2025 – includes other big stars such as Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Thomas Haden Church, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close and Andrew Scott, although all the actors have kept his lips sealed as to the identity of his characters.

The picture will follow 2022’s “Glass Onion,” starring Edward Norton, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista, in what promises to be detective Benoit Blanc’s (Craig) most dangerous murder-mystery case yet.

In August, Johnson confirmed that filming on the Netflix film had wrapped and thanked the cast for making it “a really special shoot.”

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ director wrote: “Aaaand this is a ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ wrap. It went so fast! Better team, amazing cast, this was truly a special shoot and I can’t wait to put it together (sic).”

Johnson’s message also included a picture of a cemetery with the sign: “Please mind the graves.”
