The DOI will not provide the cost of airport bird scaring vehicles

The Department for Infrastructure has refused to reveal for a second time how much it paid for airport bird scaring vehicles.

A freedom of information request to the department in September asked for the cost of two Volvo XC40 top-ups bought for the airport’s fire service, but the department said the information was commercially sensitive.

Now, a second request for the figure has also been rejected for the same reason.

The DOI, however, confirmed that the vehicles are being advertised on Volvo’s website for £44,600 each.
