It’s election time, when celebrities and pop culture figures show up like a combination of the Oscars and the Grammys to lend their support to the Democratic candidates. This time, they are pushing their followers to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. But some of them have been doing it for so long that Harris’ campaign could rival “The Fast and the Furious” franchise for the number of sequels.

And no one seems to care more than their agents and reporters. (Ahem.) Maybe it’s because it’s such a tired rewrite, like most of what Hollywood sells to the public in their day jobs. Each of the 10 best movies of 2024 is a sequel. Just like the celebrity endorsement on the left.

That’s why many of Harris’ biggest backers are election veterans. Some of them, like singers Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt and Barbra Streisand, have been reliable voices for the left since Harris was a teenager. At 75, Springsteen is the youngest of this trio.

Millionaire Springsteen (he’s only worth $750 million, please shed a tear) has been promoting left-wing causes since the 1970s, when he was part of the ill-conceived No Nukes lineup. The idea that The Boss supports Democrats is about as reliable as him cashing checks. CelebrityNetWorth estimates the working-class hero’s annual income to be $80 million, or roughly 1,894 times what a typical working-class American earns in a year.

CLOONEY, HOLLYWOOD LINE UP BEHIND HARRIS AS CELEBRITY ENDORSES AND CASH-IN

Ronstadt was a star in the 1970s when she was involved with left-wing causes and star Democrat/California Governor Jerry Brown. The pair shared a Newsweek cover story in April 1979, titled “Jerry Brown’s Pop Politics.” Brown ran for president in both 1976 and 1980 and has been a powerhouse in left-wing politics ever since. And Ronstadt has also acted for the Clintons in the White House and campaigned for Biden in 2020.

And Streisand is so far left that she sang for presidential candidate George McGovern in 1972. She performed with James Taylor, Quincy Jones and Carole King to promote the anti-war candidate who was destroyed in the general election by President Richard Nixon. . Harris was only 7 years old at the time.

The media hype about celebrities who opine is as old as some of the people who do it. However, from now until the election, entertainment news will be full of brave stars showing their support for the Democrats. Just like they did with President Biden earlier this year, when most of the world knew he was a shell of his former self. Or for failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Or President Barack Obama, or Senator John Kerry, or Mr. Climate, Senator Al Gore, or President Bill Clinton…

QUENTIN TARANTINO TELLS KAMALA HARRIS TO KEEP AVOIDING INTERVIEWS UNTIL THE ELECTION: ‘NO F— S— UP’

You get the picture.

Heck, it’s even a sequel to his anti-Trump campaign. We are already in Hollywood vs. Trump Part III. Celebrities got a lot of flak when they tried this script when Trump first ran, what seems like decades ago in 2016.

It was just over eight years ago when director Joss Whedon brought together “a bunch of famous people” to create an anti-Trump video. That group included left-wing stalwarts like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Don Cheadle, all from the “Avengers,” and the left-wing president of TV’s “West Wing,” Martin Sheen.

Whedon and his crew of “Save the Day” animators produced a slew of propaganda videos aimed, in his words, at helping to “get out the vote and stop (ping) orange Muppet Hitler.” It didn’t quite go as planned.

Now, thanks to social media, every presidential race is a must-see event for Hollywood celebrities. Younger stars are also joining this year. Actress Jennifer Lawrence, singers Billie Eilish and “Femininomenon” singer Chappell Roan headline some of Harris’ younger supporters.

Roan was called out because he initially posted a video opposing Trump that also criticized “issues on both sides.” She’s an extreme anti-Israel activist, so an ideal advocate for Democrats, but frustrated that her party hasn’t cut all ties with our ally. A day later, he went on to announce, “Yes, I’m voting for the whore Kamala,” because he also received a lot of negative comments for daring to criticize the Democrats.

Harris, whose public appearances are the embodiment of the show “Veep,” even got the support of Taylor Swift, pretty much the only A-list name left in Hollywood.

This was not a surprise. Swift is singing for Harris the way she sang for Biden in 2020. The queen of bad choices is trying to tell Americans she made the right choice…this time. When he endorsed Biden, he delivered a mind-boggling collection of left-wing banter.

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be recognized and included” . she said

Campaigning for Democrats and idiotic left-wing policies only reinforces celebrities’ disconnection from their audiences, but it’s little risk for a star of Swiftian stature. And for performers who have been or have never been, get their name in press releases and news articles with the best talent, reminding everyone that they exist. (I’m looking at you, Fran Drescher.)

It doesn’t hurt their careers. It empowers them. Support some Marxist candidate or some strange cause and Hollywood producers will overlook everything you do. Just ask Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski about that.

So think of the next four weeks as a kind of profit. It may seem like the stars have come out to benefit Harris, but many just want to sell their favorite product: themselves.
