But we stopped doing it when daily soaps started. It wasn’t our cup of tea. So we moved on and create our own film company, and the first film was a wednesday. We come from that origin that we also tell stories in digital format”.

a wednesdayhowever, it was not thought of in his first film. “Before a wednesdayNeeraj had written three scripts, but we couldn’t make them. The first film was of the budget of Rs. 10 crore, the second of Rs. 7.5 crore and the third of Rs. 5 crores. So we decided to write a screenplay that we can raise funds for. During the discussion about what we can do, we came up with the idea of a wednesday. We jumped at it,” he said.

They were greatly helped by the generosity of Shah and Kher. “We were very lucky with all the actors we approached. I remember when I went to Naseer sahab and Anupam ji and asked about the advertisements. I said I am a first time producer, and Neeraj is a newbie director, and we don’t have much money. And they were both nice enough to say that they don’t want to charge anything for what we want to put in our contract,” the producer revealed.

Talking about the casting of other actors, Bhatia said, “Jimmy is a close friend. I was excited to be on board. Aamir Bashir joined. I thought we got on very well and it was very easy the major part of the time.”
