From Olympic medals to wedding bands.

American sprinter Noah Lyles announced his engagement to fellow Olympian Junelle Bromfield on Sunday, sharing a video of Saturday’s dream proposal on social media.

Captioning the clip, “To My Future Wife I Will Love You Forever,” Lyles, a two-time Olympian who won two medals at this summer’s Paris Games, is seen on one knee in front of Bromfield and a floral display in the form of heart with the accompanying message: “Will you marry me?”

Bromfield, who hails from Jamaica and is a track and field star, kissed Lyles after she accepted his proposal before showing off her engagement ring.

“Engaged,” she exclaimed in a separate video as she celebrated with her loved ones.

Lyles, 27, and Bromfield, 26, have been together since 2022 after years of back-and-forth communication.

The couple’s engagement comes months after the couple competed in the 2024 Paris Games.

Lyles won gold in the men’s 100 meters and bronze in the men’s 200 meters, but his Olympic run was cut short due to COVID-19.

Bromfield, who took bronze in the women’s 4×400 meters at the 2021 Tokyo Games, did not medal in Paris.

Lyles publicly supported Bromfield during the Games, calling her a “survivor” as she fought “sheer disrespect and hatred towards her from her own country”.

“This woman has been attacked by people who have never met her, never heard her name, never seen her smile or what she believes in. But keep moving forward knowing that God will always make a way. For that God bless her!” Lyles posted on Instagram in August.

While Lyles didn’t elaborate on the alleged backlash, comments made on the “Track World News” podcast suggested the sprinter was aware of some intelligence, according to Us Weekly.

Bromfield acknowledged Lyles’ message and replied, “Thanks babe for always supporting us long before we started dating.”

In the weeks following the Olympics, Lyles and Bromfield enjoyed a “baecation” in paradise and attended New York Fashion Week.

The pair also took in the US Open in Queens last month before traveling to Arizona days later for a Cardinals game.
