TJ Holmes reveals how his long-awaited moment with Amy Robach ended in disaster

Running is more than a shared hobby for Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, it’s basically a lifestyle for the couple. They were brought together by their shared love of the sport, and now participate in competitive marathons quite often.

Amy, 51, and TJ, 47, left for Chicago this weekend to participate in the Chicago Marathonhaving trained for months for the race. This year’s race started bright and early on the morning of Sunday 13 October and finished early today with Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich breaking the world record by nearly two minutes.

However, while the career started in earnest for the TV couple, it ended in an unfortunate way for TJwho documented his career from start to finish on his Instagram stories.

He began by sharing a photo of the massive crowd that had gathered not just to participatebut also check out the marathon, which is 26.2 miles long and takes runners through some of the most picturesque neighborhoods and attractions the Windy City has to offer.

TJ started the race by cutely leaning on his girlfriend and then taking off, snapping photos along the way of the many encouraging signs people held up, some of which read “Smile! You paid to do it!” and “May the course be with you!”

As he was captured passing the 15 mile mark, He then stopped posting for a couple of hours, before returning with a photo of himself strapped to a stretcher in an ambulance.

It’s unclear exactly what happened, which could range from a foot injury to exhaustion. “This happened,” she simply captioned the photo with a crying face emoji.
