A Lincoln Park man was killed in a cement truck crash on I-275 in NB

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A cement truck driver was killed when his truck crashed into the northbound lanes of I-275 in Wayne County.

The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, in the northbound lanes of I-275 near Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth. The driver has been identified as a 59-year-old man from Lincoln Park.

Police said the 59-year-old driver failed to stop in time and hit the back of a box truck. The force of the crash pushed the box truck into a semi truck. The accident spilled concrete, tar and diesel across all lanes of the highway.

Firefighters removed the 59-year-old driver from the truck. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver’s family was notified.

No other injuries were reported.

The freeway reopened at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, October 12.
