Australian homeowner finds most precious surprise ‘visitor’ after receiving alert on doorbell camera

Doorbell cameras can serve a myriad of purposes, from protecting your home to checking on your family members. However, one Australian homeowner found a whole new use for his doorbell camera after it accidentally became a wildlife camera.

The interior decorator, who goes by the name @coastalhamptonstyle, did a double take when she got an interesting notification from the front door camera. He ran outside as fast as he could to see if his eyes were deceiving him, but sure enough, there was a very special visitor waiting on his porch. He was a little tipsy, so after the excitement of the moment wore off, wildlife officials came to escort him home. Check out the September 26 adventure!

Look at this magnificent koala! I can see why this homeowner and decorator was so surprised to see it in his yard, even as a local. Many native Australian animals roam populated areas such as the suburbs, but the wild koala is not usually one of them. Accidents like this can happen, but it usually means the animal was turned.

The amazing animal watcher did the right thing by calling the appropriate authorities to relocate the koala. The suburbs and all their busy roads can be dangerous for wild animals, so it’s crucial to get them back to safety as soon as possible. Some might think that a cute-looking koala would be easy to handle, but as you heard in this video, there’s a reason professionals step in.

“Getting him out of the tree felt eerily similar to trying to get my wild friend to leave the bar when she’s had a few too many,” joked @pinksparklyhotdog. LOL! This is so relatable, especially as the friend who almost always ends up babysitting. The similarities are uncanny!

What exactly are koalas?

Australian koalas are undoubtedly adorable, but not everyone knows exactly what they are. In fact, many people call them koala bears and spend their whole lives thinking they are bears! In reality, however, these sweet animals are marsupials like kangaroos and wallabies. These animals carry their young in a pouch on the front of their body, which also acts as a passage for the mother’s umbilical cord.

Koalas also deceive with their adorable and fluffy appearance. Many people are tempted to pet or hold them, but rarely are they fans of it. Some zoo animals, including koalas, learn to enjoy human contact, but wild koalas would prefer nothing to do with humans. Fair enough!
