Stand by Babar Azam during the difficult patch, “don’t let him down”

Amid discussions about Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam being rested, Fakhar Zaman has expressed concern about being compared to Virat Kohli’s handling of India during their slump in form between 2020-2023.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Fakhar said during this period Kohli averaged 19.33, 28.21 and 26.50 but was never picked up by the Indian team.

Fakhar said leaving out Babar, who is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s best batsmen, could send a negative message to the team. Instead of panicking, they suggest focusing on supporting key players like Babar to help them regain form, rather than undermining their confidence.

The cricketing community is asking for patience and a more measured approach to ensure that Pakistan’s best talent is protected during the difficult phases.
