Will Thalapathy Vijay do ‘Leo 2’? Excited fans as director Lokesh Kangaraj reveals the name of the film

Good news for ‘Leo’ fans! Tamil director Lokesh Kangaraj recently hinted at a possible sequel to the Thalapathy Vijay starrer in 2023. In a recent interview with 123 Telugu, the veteran filmmaker said that he would always be in favor of making a sequel if the superstar was amenable. He revealed that if he had a chance to make ‘Leo 2’ with Vijay, he would title it ‘Parthiban’.

However, the superstar is said to be preparing the ground for his political debut. According to reports, she may be saying goodbye to her film career. Whether “Leo 2” is made or not, only time will tell.

Thalapathy Vijay recently appeared in the sci-fi action thriller ‘Greatest of All Time’. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film starred the superstar in dual roles. Made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, the film ended up being a grosser average.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Leo’ is the third installment in Lokesh’s cinematic universe and is partially inspired by ‘A History of Violence’.

The film, released in October 2023, broke several box office records for a Tamil film. It became the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of the year, ranked as the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, and secured its place as the third-highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. It also won the title of the highest grossing Tamil film internationally and achieved the highest box office revenue in Tamil Nadu. The film ended its BO journey with a total collection of approximately Rs 620 crore.

Along with Vijay, the film also starred Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt (his Kollywood debut), Arjun Sarja, etc.
