Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Table (pcb) to select referee Aleem Dar for the National Selection Committee. The revamped panel also includes former Test cricketers Aaqib Javed and Azhar Alialong with the cricket analyst Hasan Cheema.
In his official YouTube video, Ali questioned the decision to appoint Dar, noting that the role is usually reserved for former players and coaches. He suggested adding a match referee and a media representative to the panel if a referee could be included.
“This is an absolutely amazing decision,” Ali said. “I am surprised that Aleem Dar has joined the selection committee. He was a great umpire and he is a very good human being, but he does not deserve to be there. Not now, but in the next few days, there will be voices.
