Rebels behind Cong’s defeat in 16 seats, internal poll reveals

An internal survey conducted by the Congress revealed that the party lost 16 seats in the recent Haryana Assembly elections to rebel candidates.

The survey points out that the number of votes polled by the rebel candidates was considerably higher than the margin by which the Congress candidates lost the election.

According to the survey, the Congress candidate lost the Kalka seat by a margin of around 11,000 votes, while the rebel candidate from this constituency got close to 32,000 votes.

The Congress candidate came third in the Pundri constituency where the rebel candidate polled nearly 40,000 votes and lost by a margin of nearly 2,200 votes.

The Congress candidate in the Rai constituency lost by a margin of nearly 4,600 votes, while the rebel candidate got nearly 12,000 votes.

In the Gohana Assembly segment, the rebel candidate secured nearly 15,000 votes, while the BJP defeated the Congress by nearly 10,000 votes.

The Congress candidate lost the Safidon segment by nearly 4,000 votes, while two rebel candidates got nearly 29,000 votes.

Two rebel candidates got close to 7,000 votes in the Dadri constituency, where the Congress candidate lost by nearly 2,000 votes. The Congress rebel polled nearly 57,000 votes in the Tigaon segment and lost by nearly 37,000 votes, while the Congress candidate came third.

In Ambala Cantt too, the Congress came third, while the party rebel got nearly 53,000 votes and lost by around 7,200 votes.

The Congress candidate lost by a margin of nearly 2,300 votes, while the rebel got nearly 16,000 votes in Assandh’s Assembly segment.

The Congress rebel got more than 31,000 votes, while the party’s official candidate lost by a narrow margin of just 32 votes in the Uchana Kalan constituency.

Similarly, the Congress rebel got nearly 27,000 votes in Badhra, where the party candidate lost by nearly 7,500 votes.

In Mahendragarh, the Congress candidate lost by about 2,600 votes, while the rebel got nearly 21,000 votes.

The Congress candidate lost in the Sohna constituency by nearly 11,000 votes, while two independent (rebel) candidates got nearly 70,000 votes.

The Congress rebel got nearly 44,000 votes and lost by nearly 17,000 votes, while the party’s official candidate came fourth in Ballabhgarh.

The Congress candidate lost by just 610 votes in Dabwali, where three independent (rebel) candidates got close to 2,000 votes.

The Congress rebel won the Bahadurgarh seat as an independent, while the party’s official candidate came third.
