Bath & Body Works issues an apology and pulls out a candle that resembles a KKK hood

Bath & Body Works has gotten rid of a holiday candle after drawing comparisons to the Ku Klux Klan.

TMZ reports that the candle went viral earlier this week when an X user posted a picture of it. The packaging of the “Snowed In” candle features a snowflake that resembles the pointy top and eye slits of a KKK hood.

The retail company issued a statement about the candle at the point of sale.

“At Bath & Body Works, we’re committed to listening to our teams and customers, and we’re committed to correcting any mistakes we make, even unintentional ones like this one. We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and that we’re working with quickly to have it. This item has been removed and we are evaluating our process going forward.”

The “Snowed In” candle appeared to be part of the company’s winter wonderland-themed designs, which also feature images of snowflakes. As of this writing, it appears that all of these candles have been removed from the Bath & Body Works website.
