Ricky Starks says fans expecting him to work elsewhere is a compliment

Ricky Starks is still part of All Elite Wrestling, but fans are hoping to see him jump to WWE when his contract expires.

Elite Wrestling’s Ricky Starks recently participated in one Highspots virtual signature. When asked about fans believing he’ll end up at another company in the future, Starks said he takes that as a compliment.

“Honestly, that’s so sweet that people would say that to me. I think that’s a compliment,” Ricky Starks said. “It’s great to hear that people care so much about me.”

Ricky Starks thinks he owes the fans an explanation for his absence

Many fans believe that Starks will end up in WWE due to his long absence from AEW programming. Starks has not appeared in the company since March and would like to give fans an explanation.

“No. I am healthy, I am healthy in mind and body. I am able to fight. It’s just, you know, it’s not up to me,” Ricky Starks said. “I’ve been getting a lot of messages lately where people are like, uh, just looking at you. I hope you are doing well. I hope you are doing well mentally and that it is so sweet. It means a lot to me because these people don’t know what’s going on, do they?

“But yeah, I get a lot of messages and every time I read them, I cry. Because people care, you know? I love them. I wish I could give an answer. I’m healthy, I’m ready to get back in the ring. I’m fit obviously I’ve always been in shape. Sometimes it’s not up to me. I love wrestling and I’ll find a way to do it one way or another.

“At least I think I owe the fans some kind of explanation to the best of my ability, as far as I know, so some people don’t want to believe it. I don’t give a shit. But yeah, I wish I had more… a definitive answer, but sometimes, darkness is your only friend when you’re definitely trying to find the light. (H/T: fighter)
