A tweet from the NFL’s popular social media platform ML Football went viral on Thursday claiming that Underwood makes $1 million every week his SNF ballad is played. That equates to $18 million for the promotional video he does at the start of the season.

The post was quickly debunked thanks to a tweet from user Molly Vegas, who shared a clip from a May 2023 interview Underwood did on “The Howard Stern Show.”

“For me? … No. It’s pretty pro bono,” Underwood replied. “I wish! That would be great, that would be great!

ML Football’s tweet now has a community note, detailing that the claim is “false”.
