The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has conducted health inspections on more than 100 cruise ships this year, and most have received passing scores of 95 or higher.

However, 19 ships scored a perfect 100 in their 2024 inspections.

The ships include some of the leading brands in the cruise industry, including Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Disney Cruise Line, among others.

The random, unannounced inspections took place from January 2nd to September 3rd.

“Inspections typically take 6 to 8 hours, depending on the number of inspectors, the size of the vessel, the amount of time the vessel is in port, and the problems identified during the inspection,” the CDC states on its website. “These inspections are periodic and unannounced.”

According to Business Insider, 29 cruise ships had achieved perfect scores at this time last year, with 34 ships ending 2023 with CDC’s perfect sanitation marks.
