Todd Grisham explains the flat reaction to Christian’s WWE return, Tony Khan reacts

Fans upset by Todd Grisham’s flat reaction to Christian’s return to WWE can blame Vince McMahon, according to the former commentator.

In early 2009, Christian returned after nearly four years away, but Grisham’s underwhelming reaction from “He’s a Christian” left a lot to be desired.

On Twitter, Grisham explained that McMahon instructed him not to react excitedly to Christian’s return.

This explanation caught the attention of AEW president Tony Khan, who was puzzled as to why McMahon wanted the subdued reaction.

Christian remained in WWE until 2021 and would debut in AEW that same year, where he is a former TNT, Trios and Tag Team Champion.
