Cruisers end the 5th with Burnin’ Up in the Pass flying rubber bands full of smoke

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WLOX) – Down the small downtown streets of the Pass, locals and out-of-state alike enjoy the glitzy sight of classic cars.

First-year cruiser Chris Steffan says, “This has a lot of cars lined up on the street and everyone is coming and going, which makes for a good time.”

With a sense of community also filling the streets, it’s not just the cars that bring the joy.

Cruiser for 12 years Kim Elling says, “The old classic cars, the stuff I grew up with, it’s wonderful…the atmosphere, the people, the food, everything.”

While the parade of these classics was entertaining enough, the show was about to begin.

Burn ‘Em Up in the Pass stole the show with about 15 cars showing off what they had.

Burn ‘Em Up mastermind Dennis Landry says, “This is what we call a burnout show. There’s no real reason or rhyme, except that there’s no police here. So I have three rules . The first rule is show me what you can do in a car. The second rule is that it doesn’t have to be your car. The third rule is that you don’t bring attitude.”

A Cruisin’ the Coast founder could also be seen enjoying the hundreds of people lining the barricades to watch the rubber fly through the air.

Cruisin’ the Coast executive director Woody Bailey says: “What was agreed to be here was smoke and that’s what everyone saw. We had a super event so we’re very happy. It was an event I’m sure it’s always very important.”
