Ree Drummond’s daughter Alex reveals pregnancy ‘alter ego’ ahead of ‘big’ checkup

Ree Drummond’s daughter Alex revealed a new detail about her pregnancy journey in a video update she shared with her social media followers on Thursday, October 10.

The Food Network star’s eldest daughter gave a glimpse of her ‘pregnancy alter ego’ as she explained that she and her husband, Maurice Scottthey were on their way to “a big date” with their doctor. She shared updates from her outing on Instagram Stories.

While in the car on the way to Alex’s office, Mauricio could be heard identifying his wife as “Big Bertha.” Alex laughed in response before repeating the name and adding, “My pregnancy alter ego is Big Bertha.”

“Every time I get out of bed in the morning, I’m like, ‘Oh, Big Bertha,'” Alex, 27, explained. She then informed her Instagram followers that she and Mauricio “might see our baby girl” after her ultrasound. She later shared a photo on Instagram Stories of the ultrasound image they received during their appointment.

Once at the doctor’s office, the couple filmed a new video clip during which Mauricio observed, “Big Bertha is on the move.” The comment caused his wife to pause as she considered whether she appreciated his use of the name.

“I feel like I can call myself Big Bertha, but I don’t know if you can call me Big Bertha,” she told him.

Alex and Mauricio announced they were expecting their first child together in June. Shortly after, they shared a sweet gender reveal video on Instagram, alerting fans that they were expecting a baby girl. In the months since, Alex has shared several updates with her social media followers about her pregnancy journey, including vulnerable admissions about some of the struggles she faced early on.
