‘She’s still a principled conservative’: Meghan McCain reveals why she doesn’t support Trump or Harris

Meghan McCaindaughter of the late senator John McCainhas once again refused to support Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election, saying she is “still a principled conservative.” This comes after Harris’ running mate, Tim Walzposted a photo with Meghan’s brother, who is supporting Harris, and captioned it: “They are showing America what it means to put country first.”
In a photo posted on social media platform X, republican posed with vice presidential candidate Tim Walz Jim McCain and Sen. Ruben Gallego, stating, “So proud to be with Sen. John McCain’s son Jim McCain and @RubenGallego. They are showing America what it means to put country first.”
In response to Walz, Meghan McCain clarified that there is no family drama, despite her brother’s support democratic presidential candidate Harris while he doesn’t. She also revealed that she is not endorsing either Harris or Trump, as she remains a principled conservative like her father.
“To all of you tweeting at me, yes, I’m still here, the last Republican in the family. It feels weird, but it’s all good. There’s no family drama. I won’t support Harris (or Trump) because I’m still a principled conservative, like my father was all his life,” Meghan wrote to X, citing Walz’s tweet.
Last month, Meghan McCain announced that she would not support either Vice President Kamala Harris or Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump trump in the next elections in November. His statement came after his brother, Jimmy McCain, voiced his support for Harris. Jimmy McCain, 36, has 17 years of military service and works as an intelligence officer.
The late Senator John McCain, father of Meghan and Jimmy, died in 2018. He was a prisoner of war in Vietnam for over five years. In 2015, Trump faced criticism for his comment: “John McCain was not a war hero because he was captured.”
