Mass. man, 33, arrested after drug-related chemicals dumped in 2 towns

Everett police arrested a city resident Tuesday and identified him as a suspect in connection with the disposal of drug-related chemicals at multiple locations.

Alexander Yaksic, 33, was arrested on a federal probation warrant, Everett officials said.

A state hazmat team wearing protective gear responded to 51 Gledhill Avenue to search and secure the area after reports that a person had dumped chemicals used to make illicit narcotics.

Everett officials have provided few details about the investigation.

A hazmat team also responded to locations in Malden, WCVB reported.

It was Yaksic sentenced to 41 months in federal prison in 2020 after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges.

Federal authorities said at the time that he participated in a conspiracy to distribute MDMA, also known as ecstasy.

The Everett resident admitted to using the Internet’s “dark web” to import ecstasy from overseas and distribute it to customers in the United States.
