PKL Season 11: Solid defense is key to a good performance, says Bengaluru Bulls coach

Hyderabad, November 5 (IANS): Bengaluru Bulls seemed to have turned a corner and found some form in the second half of the Hyderabad leg of PKL Season 11. Coached by Randhir Singh Sehrawat, Bengaluru Bulls pulled off a stunning win against Tamil Thalaivas to register their second. win of the season.

“In this match (against Tamil Thalaivas), all our strategies worked very well and in the entire 40 minutes the team made only one mistake. We played very well, according to our plans. And I’m very happy about that,” said the coach.

“Tamil Thalaivas are a very good team, Sachin and Narender Kandola are excellent players and one of our thoughts was that we should stop them so that we can put our plans into action. Without a solid defense there is no way forward, if the defenders play well it helps the raiders. Next, I want my team to defend as well as they did against Tamil Thalaivas,” the coach added.

Echoing the coach’s thoughts, stand-in captain Nitin Rawal said, “Our coach told us to focus on the instructions he was giving us and the plans we had made in training. We were able to execute our plans very well and followed the coach’s instructions, and that helped us.”

The Bengaluru Bulls coach previously mentioned that PKL Season 11 will be a very competitive season. Looking ahead, he said: “The points table changes very quickly throughout the season and it’s hard to predict things based on that. The young players show their talent and know when to bring in which player so that they are able to perform at their best. For Bengaluru Bulls, the focus is on the games ahead.”

Bengaluru Bulls next match is against Bengaluruz Warriorz and before the match he said, “They have at least three good raiders in their team but Bengaluru Bulls have time to prepare and we will work hard to come up with a way to to counter them. Our morale and confidence are high at the moment as well.”

Patna Pirates will look to win their third match on the trot as they take on U Mumba in the first match on Wednesday. All eyes will be on the young duo of Devank Dalal and Ayan Lohchab who lead the raiding department for Patna Pirates this season. They will certainly keep the U Mumba defense – led by captain Sunil Kumar – at bay throughout the game.

Meanwhile, Tamil Thalaiva face the host team Telugu Titans in the second match on Wednesday. The hope for Tamil Thalaiva will be to bounce back from their loss in their last match against Bengaluru Bulls as they hope to regain the top spot in the league table. For the Telugu Titans, they will want to continue their winning streak in hopes of improving their score difference.
