A police chase ended in chaos after three vehicles crashed on an A road.

Two teenagers were injured after a police chase ended on the hard shoulder of the A406 Crooked Billet roundabout in Walthamstow, east. London.

The crash happened after a car collided with a man on a moped before hitting another car at the busy roundabout shortly before 3pm.

The Metropolitan Police said the pursuit was authorized after a car eluded officers on the Cooks Ferry roundabout.

This sparked a major emergency response with the ambulance service, fire brigade and air ambulance attending.

The driver of the moped suffered minor injuries, while the driver and passenger of both cars, believed to be teenagers, were rushed to hospital.

Police said they were awaiting an update on their condition.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said it received reports of an accident at the junction of Chingford Road and Billet Road, Chingford, at around 2.59pm.

They said: “We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and the London Air Ambulance.

“The first of our crews arrived on the scene in three minutes.”
