One arrested, another injured after 2 clashes with Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – One person was taken into custody while another was taken to a nearby hospital after two collisions in Lawrence were found to be related to the same incident.

The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department says around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, a pursuit between law enforcement and a suspect ended after a crash in the area of ​​27th and Louisiana St. near Billy Mills Middle School.

Investigators said the suspect, who escaped the crash without injury, was taken into custody without further incident.

Law enforcement initially said they tried to pull the driver over near 19th and Massachusetts St. after a caller reported someone in the vehicle might be in danger.

LKPD noted that the caller, who began following the suspect in his own vehicle, crashed near 23rd and Naismith Dr. near Dillons. One of the four people inside was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, law enforcement determined that no one inside the suspect vehicle was in danger, however, the investigation into what led up to the events remains ongoing.
