Watch Cardi B’s powerful speech at Kamala Harris’ Milwaukee rally

cardi b gave an impassioned speech in support Kamala Harris and condemning Donald Trump’s stance on women’s rights at a rally in Milwaukee on Friday.

“My whole life I’ve been waiting for this moment,” Cardi B told the crowd at the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center. “I do not take lightly the call to appear, the call to speak, the call to deliver a message that has been in my heart for a hot minute now.”

“Like Kamala Harris, I was the underdog, I was underestimated, my success undermined and discredited. Let me tell you something: women have to work ten times harder, perform ten times better, and yet people ask us how we got to the top. I can’t stand a bully, but like Kamala, I always stand up to one.”

The rapper first admitted: exactly as she said Rolling Stone in May — that she wasn’t going to support Donald Trump or Joe Biden in the 2024 election. In fact, “I wasn’t going to vote this year — I wasn’t,” she said. “But Kamala Harris joining the race changed my mind completely.”

“I didn’t trust any candidate until she joined the race and said the things that I wanted to hear, that I want to continue to see in this country,” she added. “I believe every word that comes out of her mouth. She is passionate, compassionate, empathetic and above all, not delusional. Kamala recognizes that this country is in danger. That the economy needs to get stronger, that the cost of food and the cost of living are too high.”

Cardi then detailed some of Harris’ policies she supports before turning her attention to the vice presidential opponent.

“Did you hear what Donny Trump said the other day? … He says he will protect women whether they like it or not,” Cardi B said.

“Protecting women, especially when it comes to maternal and mental health care, is not telling them what to do with their bodies. It supports them and gives them the care they need for what they choose to do with their bodies. People like Donald Trump don’t think women deserve rights. And when those rights are taken away, they are nowhere to be found.”

She continued, “Well, if his definition of protection isn’t freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want that!”

Cardi then called Trump a “hustler,” but “taking women out of their rights over their bodies is a nasty job. Stripping Americans of their hard earned money, selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers, Trump Bibles…do we really trust this man with our economy? A man who only cares about getting rich and cutting taxes for his billionaire friends. I don’t even get a tax break!”

Hours after her Milwaukee speech, Cardi B continued to bash Harris and slam Trump on social networks: “Donald Trump talks about how he has concepts of a plan… but the only concept of a plan he has is a plan to counter you.”
