Passengers robbed at gunpoint after being offered Uber ride

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Police say several people were robbed at gunpoint after an Uber ride around 9:00pm last night.

According to the police report, a white male offered the victims an Uber ride from Kentucky to Indiana.

Officials say upon arrival, the suspect pointed a gun at the victims and demanded that one of them “give him the money.”

The victim gave the suspect approximately $2,200 before leaving the scene.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect when they arrived.

The investigation is still ongoing.
