Challenger Bernie Moreno defeats 17-year-old Sherrod Brown in Senate race

Ohio (WOIO) – The race for one of Ohio’s United States Senate seats is getting closer as Election Day approaches.

Businessman Bernie Moreno will face 17-year-old Sherrod Brown on November 5.

Owner: Sherrod Brown

Sherrod Brown is originally from Northeast Ohio. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio and now lives in Cleveland with his wife, Connie Schultz.

Senator Brown took office in 2007, succeeding current Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.

Before becoming a senator, he was a member of the US House of Representatives from Ohio’s 13th district.

Senator Brown is the Democratic candidate on the ticket.

Senator Brown advocated for several Northeast Ohio interests, including responsibility for the East Palestine train derailmentpushing for browns stadium to stay in downtown Clevelandand support for Tamir Rice Foundation Memorial in Cleveland.

Senator Brown’s platform includes at least 11 priorities, including union support, securing the border, increasing abortion rights and protecting women’s health, and “fighting for rural Ohioans.”

Challenger: Bernie Moreno

Bernie Moreno was born in Bogota, Colombia. At the age of 5, his family moved to the United States and he became an American citizen at 18.

Moreno now lives in Westlake, Ohio with his wife, Bridget.

Moreno is a businessman and bought his first car dealership in 2005, which he turned into one of the largest dealership groups in America.

His bio on his campaign website says: “After a long and successful career, Bernie sold most of his business to begin focusing on his calling: protecting the American dream for another generation.” .

Moreno is the Republican candidate on the ticket.

Moreno’s platform includes 16 priorities, including securing America’s borders, cutting government spending, supporting Israel, banning late-term abortions and ending “socialism in America.”
