Marietta City Schools teacher faces charges

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – A Marietta City Schools staff member is facing charges.

According to a Facebook post by the acting superintendent, the school refrained from making a public statement at the time the allegations were made out of respect for the law enforcement investigation.

The nature of the charges has not been disclosed at this time.

The Marietta City Law Director’s office told WTAP they have no information on the incident.

WTAP reached out to the Marietta Police Department but did not hear back.

Woods sent an email referring to the Facebook post.

Woods also stated in her email, “We continue to work through the legal process with law enforcement and the district’s legal counsel. At this time, we have no further comment on this situation.”
