ANB bank robbery suspect arrested in Arapahoe County

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Thursday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department arrested suspect in Grand Junction ANB Bank robbery after officials say he robbed a second location in Centennial, Colo.

The Grand Junction Police Department said in a statement that a man matching the description of the bank robbery suspect entered a jewelry and loan business Monday around 4 p.m., stole jewelry, then ran away from on site on foot.

GJPD is looking for help finding the suspect in the ANB Bank robbery

The GJPD worked closely with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force to identify the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

The suspect was contacted and arrested on Thursday. Malachi James Salus, 22, faces aggravated robbery and theft charges related to the Grand Junction ANB Bank robbery and additional charges related to the Arapahoe County robbery.

GJPD thanks the Mesa County community for providing tips and information related to the robbery.

This case is still active; the details of the case are being reviewed by the DA’s office. No other information is available at this time.
