Attention American Airlines members: Now is a good time to check in American Airlines AAdvantage account as you may be eligible for a bonus miles (or Loyalty Points) promotion when you book a flight in a premium cabin before the end of the year.

I have seen offers that can give you up to 20,000 bonus AAdvantage miles. Most people are not given loyalty points; however, I have read some reports that members have the choice of either earning loyalty points or bonus miles. While earning bonus miles won’t help you earn elite status with American, the extra loyalty points could come in handy if you’re looking to elite status with the carrier.

Be sure to check carefully, especially if you need more loyalty points to reach your status goals.

To see if you’ve been targeted, sign in to your AAdvantage account, go to your account summary and click on “Promotions.”

As you can see, my offer was for 5,000 bonus miles after flying two premium cabin flights through December 19th. Note that I must book by November 11th.

Conclusion

CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY

As far as we can tell, most AAdvantage members were targeted for the airline’s latest promotion. While it is not that interested in an offer, we’ll always take more AAdvantage miles (or loyalty points, for some lucky members).
