Raiders rookie could step up in a massive way

As the Las Vegas Raiders prepare for their road game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, changes may be afoot.

The entire season has seen this Raiders offense struggle. They can’t establish the run or get the pass going. We’ve only seen glimpses of what this offense should look like every time they take the field.

The bright spots for this Raiders offense have been the two rookies who have stepped up and stepped up on the offensive line. Jackson Powers-Johnson and DJ Glaze played well. They will be the future of the Raiders on the offensive line.

And this week we could see Powers-Johnson taking shots downtown. Power-Johnson has experience at the center position from his college days.

“Getting those reps and getting that cohesion with the offense and Gardner, I think is huge,” the Raiders’ offensive lineman said. Jackson Powers-Johnson. “I think you have to have a lot more communication just because the center you know, more accountability. You have to read the defense and you have to command the line. You just keep learning and keep building and you know how you said to build. crime cohesion I’ll be ready to go if need be.

Powers-Johnson will be the leader of this offense for years to come.

“I mean it’s hard. But I have great guys around me. I have the whole line pushing for me and I want to be great, so you know, those guys waving and helping me too, it’s easy. get into a situation where you’re kind of dead in the water, then you know it’s really hard. I am blessed to have many great people around me.

Another injury could force the Raiders to change their offensive line there again.

“I felt good. I’ve taken a lot of photos since I’ve been here. So definitely a learning curve and I have to get back on the bike and ride the trike again, but I’ll keep trying to get one. percent better every day.”
