UIPD Investigates Armed Robbery at Joe’s Brewery | News

CAMPAIGN – University of Illinois police are investigating an armed robbery at Joe’s Brewery that prompted campus-wide emergency alerts Friday morning.

Police were dispatched to the bar at 1:01 a.m. Friday for reports of a robbery, with the first officer arriving on the scene a minute later.

According to victims at the scene, a man entered the bar through the exit, pointed a gun at an employee near the cash register, took money from the register and left back through the exit.

No shots were fired, but the suspect pointed the gun at three employees.

University police continue to patrol the area and examine security cameras and automatic license plate readers.
