Carrier games will bring national unity among Nigerians

The National Coordinator of the National Transporters Games, Wale Shodeinde, said the game initiative aims to promote national unity and cohesion among Nigerians.

He explained that the newly unveiled mascot symbolizes strength and teamwork, representing a new era of unity in the transport sector.

Shodeinde stated this during a press conference at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, stressing the role of sports in fostering unity and understanding across Nigeria’s diverse population.

He said, “This game is directed towards the National Unity of our dear country. And this is the reason why we have today the unveiling of Moscow in the northern part of the country. While we have the competitions in the South.

“And I want to assure you hosts that we will host the next edition in the north. The national carrier is ready for unity among carriers because we believe that sport is a unifying factor. Stains used to be defiance.”

Shodeinde also said the National Transporters Games slated for December in Abeokuta, Ogun State will feature athletes from eight transport organizations competing in six sports: Football, Cross Country, Athletics, Table Tennis, Swimming and Ayo.

A key promoter of the upcoming event, Senator Prince Gbolahan Dada, said that beyond national cohesion, the competition will boost the economic potential of the country’s transport system.
