A gunman wearing a Halloween mask stabs a man in Central Islip, police said

A man sitting in a parked vehicle Thursday afternoon in Central Islip was stabbed by a suspect wearing a “Halloween mask” who opened the driver’s door and attacked, Suffolk police said.

Around 4:10 p.m., Suffolk police said in a news release late Thursday, the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in a lot outside 159 Brightside Ave. The suspect approached the vehicle before eventually stabbing the man. Police have not released the identity of the victim.

Police have not released additional information about the attack, including a description of the suspect or the type of Halloween mask he was wearing.

Late Thursday, police said the stabbing victim was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect remained at large.
