BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — A Forestville man was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in prison after being charged with burglary in February and pleading guilty to attempted burglary in July, according to the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials said Gary Lang, 56, “terrorized” neighborhoods in Fredonia, Portland and Pomfret between the week of Christmas 2023 and New Year’s Eve 2024, looking for valuables to steal from their vehicles and homes.

He was indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree attempted burglary, attempted petit larceny and criminal trespass in February.

Lang pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree burglary in July, with his plea covering the other charges.

Lang was sentenced to a determinate sentence of seven years in state prison, as well as five years of post-release supervision.
