Former US President Donald Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News, alleging that a recent 60 Minutes interview with Vice President and Democratic rival Kamala Harris was misleading and edited to favor her.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that CBS engaged in “partisan and illegal acts of election and voter interference” through what Trump describes as “deceptive manipulation of the news.”

The controversy centers around an interview by popular host Bill Whitaker with Harris that aired on October 6. Trump’s legal filing seeks a jury trial and damages for what he claims are the network’s ongoing lies and deceptive practices.

Trump has expressed his displeasure with CBS for weeks, even threatening to revoke the network’s broadcast license if he wins the election. He had initially agreed to an interview with 60 Minutes, but later backed out after learning that fact-checking would be involved.
