Michigan man allegedly pulled out a gun during a dispute on I-75 in Oakland County

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan man is accused of pulling a gun during a traffic dispute on I-75 in Oakland County earlier this week, state police said.

On Monday, Oct. 28, around 9 a.m., a trooper was working construction in Oakland County when he was notified of a road rage dispute and a felonious assault with a weapon.

Officers obtained the suspect’s license plate and a description of the vehicle and found the vehicle in heavy traffic in a construction zone, according to state police.

A traffic stop was conducted and the officer discovered that the driver, a 38-year-old Ovidiu man, had a gun in his possession. He was detained and the weapon was confiscated.

State police say the case is pending a prosecutor’s review.

“Unfortunately, we still see drivers who can’t pass minor traffic violations,” said Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police. “This is one time that heavy construction traffic was actually a good thing and helped get the suspect off the street before someone got hurt.”
